Swift Global Kenya Limited was one of the pioneer Internet service providers in Kenya and was initially offering International fax services before venturing into provision of Internet services. The company identified the changing trends in the communications industry in Kenya and hence ventured into these services.

In 1997, Swift Global began providing dedicated internet access via leased lines and were the first company in Kenya to make dedicated internet access affordable to Small & Medium Sized Enterprises through the introduction of Cable Internet Services in 1999. Since then, our network and client base has continued to grow rapidly and is currently one of the largest in the country.  We now boast of a regional presence with operations in Kenya and Uganda.

Swift Global was initially under the Sameer Group of companies. In March of 2008, Sameer Group sold off 51% controlling interest in all its three ICT subsidiaries namely Swift Global Kenya Ltd (SGK), Infocom Limited (Infocom) and Kenya Data Networks (KDN) to the Altech Group of Companies in South Africa.

Altech is a leading South African multi-billion rand high-technology group and investment holding company involved in the telecommunications, multi-media and information technology industries. Altech’s holding company is Allied Electronics Corporation Limited (Altron), which is incorporated in the Republic of South Africa.
